I make a green smoothie every morning for breakfast. It keeps everything movin' if you know what I mean. It's important to rotate your dark leafy greens so in addition to kale I use carrot tops, beet tops, swiss chard, collard greens, italian parsley, spinach, sorrel, & lambsquarters. I mix up the fruits too. Some days I'll add 1/2 a lemon, a small piece of ginger, nectarines, peaches, apricots, tangelos, apples, pears...whatever fruit is in season and naturally tastes sweet! I get all my greens & fruit at my local farmer's market on Sunday afternoon. I buy my organic greens from South Central Farms and my fruits from other vendors that I have come to know and respect for the effort they put into natural farming and driving all the way to my farmer's market every Sunday morning.
